Double chin melting

What is Jowl Melting?

Jowl melting is a method used in the treatment of the medically known condition called "submental fat accumulation" or "double chin". This problem can negatively affect the appearance by causing unwanted fat accumulation in the face and chin area. Jowl melting is a preferred treatment option to improve the patient's physical appearance and increase their self-confidence.

The jowl melting process is based on the principle of reducing or removing adipose tissue by various methods. These methods are divided into two main categories as surgical and non-surgical techniques. The most appropriate treatment method can be determined in line with the needs and preferences of each patient.

Jowl Melting Methods

Non-Surgical Methods

1. Cold Application (Cryolipolysis)

Cryolipolysis provides the reduction of fat cells by controlled cold application method. This technique is carried out using locally applied cold air or liquid nitrogen. Since fat cells are sensitive to cold, they are frozen in a controlled manner and excreted naturally by the body.

2. Ultrasound (HIFU) Treatment

High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy targets fat cells, breaking them down. This procedure is performed without creating any incisions or wounds on the skin. Ultrasound energy is focused on adipose tissue, creating heat and leading to the destruction of cells.

3. Radiofrequency Therapy

Radiofrequency therapy targets fat cells using heat energy. This technique is based on the heating and breakdown of adipose tissue by means of radio waves applied in a controlled manner. Thus, it is ensured that the body naturally removes fat cells.

Surgical Methods

1. Jowl Melting Surgery (Submental Liposuction)

Jowl melting surgery is the surgical removal of fat tissue under the chin. This procedure, which is performed under local or general anesthesia, is based on aspiration of adipose tissue with small incisions. This method can be preferred to achieve significant and permanent results.

2. Neck Lift Surgery (Neck Liposuction and Neck Lift)

In addition to jowl melting, neck lift surgery also involves correcting loose or sagging skin tissue. This procedure can be used to improve more facial contours, making the jawline and neck area more prominent.

Technologies Used in the Treatment of Jowl Melting

The technologies used in the treatment of jowl melting differ in surgical and non-surgical methods. The following is a description of the major technologies used in both approaches:

Technologies Used in Non-Surgical Methods

  • Cryolipolysis Devices: Devices that apply cold air or liquid nitrogen and target fat cells.
  • HIFU Devices: Devices that break down fat cells, using high-intensity focused ultrasound technology.
  • Radiofrequency Devices: Devices that heat and break down adipose tissue through controlled radio waves.

Technologies Used in Surgical Methods

  • Liposuction Devices: Devices with powerful vacuum systems used to pull fat tissue.
  • Ultrasonic Liposuction Devices: Devices that break down and extract adipose tissue using ultrasound energy.
  • Laser Liposuction Devices: Devices that melt and pull fat tissue using laser energy.

All these technologies provide different advantages in the treatment of jowl melting, allowing the most appropriate method to be selected according to the needs of the patient.
